Another day, another Canucks pre-season move.

Saturday sees winger Alex Grenier is one of a number of NHL players on waivers. It’s that time of year: 25 players were on waivers yesterday. (All 25 cleared.)

If Grenier clears, which seems likely, he’ll be eligible to be sent to Utica.

The 25 year old has 50 goals over three seasons with the Comets. He didn’t play major junior until he 19 years old; after that first season (2010-11), the Canucks drafted him in the third round.

He played six games for the Canucks in 2015-16. A restricted free agent, he signed a second-straight one-year, two-way contract with the Canucks this summer. His AHL salary is $125,000 for the year, while his NHL salary would be $600,000.
